I think Walls thicker just make a square, pull it up, offset it in, and pull the inner square down. And sweet video!

I think I’m not that sure about this one, but, you can use the Push/Pull tool to extrude the face (a lat wall) and make it Thicker, and have more room inside. Technically, I’m not that good at making houses in SketchUp, yet…

thats what I used to do but it is a pain in the ass when you have 3 inch offset walls. It will be hard for you to match the rectangles on both sides of the wall.

I found an easier way to make an outdoor window, if you make a simple rectangle and go to the paint thing. Once you make the rectangle go onto tranclucent paint. Click one of the glass colors and paint the inner rectangle. You can see indoors and have a window now.
